Sustainability is woven into the fabric of who we are at Nollapelli. We seek innovative resources and methods which respect the environment and the people in it to deliver high-performance bedding. We are equal parts skin-conscious and eco-conscious. The care of the world around us is highlighted every April on Earth Day, but we believe environmental responsibility is an ongoing, intentional mission. Below are three sustainable qualities that help us deliver on this promise.
Nollapelli Incorporates Environmentally Responsible Fiber, TENCEL™
The patent-pending fabric in Nollapelli bedding is made from 65% naturally-derived yarns (TENCEL™ and cotton) and 35% synthetic yarns (nylon). Of these three ingredients, TENCEL™ accounts for the highest percentage at 45% and is the ultimate sustainable resource.
Developed by Lenzing, TENCEL™ is fueled from an environmentally responsible closed-loop process. This means it has virtually no environmental impact. TENCEL™ is unified with nature’s cycle. It has earned the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) BioPreferred® designation. As clarified by TENCEL™, lyocell is one of two fibers that “originate from the renewable raw material wood, created by photosynthesis. The certified biobased fibers are manufactured using an environmentally responsible production process. The fibers are certified as compostable and biodegradable, and thus can fully revert back to nature.”
Nollapelli chose TENCEL™ not only for its benefits in moisture management and enhanced breathability but also for its botanic origin and its environmentally responsible manufacturing process.
Nollapelli Bedding Lasts Longer and Dries Faster than 100% Cotton
Nollapelli's soft bedding has two distinct sustainable characteristics when compared to bedding made out of 100% cotton: durability and drying time. Simply put, our bedding is more durable. The lifespan of Nollapelli is greater than 100% cotton creating less stress on the planet’s resources. Nollapelli's innovative bedding also dries 20% faster than 100% cotton and wrinkles less. This translates to time, money, and energy saved.
Made in the USA
Nollapelli's soft sheets and pillowcases are made in the USA from imported fabrics. This is rare for the bedding industry. The vast majority of bedding, almost 100% in this country, is made outside of the USA and the finished product is imported. We choose to put in place a supply chain that benefits and supports American jobs. It is our way of contributing to the productivity and balance of our local economy. Plus, with the materials only having to be shipped in the USA, it keeps the emission levels from transportation vehicles lower!
Nollapelli is dedicated both to your health and to the health of the planet we love and live on. Join us in this love and check out our sustainable, soft, and innovative bedsheets and pillowcases today!
